About jeff ellington

Jeff was raised in Monroe County, Indiana, and graduated from Bloomington High School South. He attended Indiana University before starting his successful small business, J.R. Ellington Tree Experts. He expanded his business operations over the years to Phoenix Demolition and Ellington Stables. He has done business with people in his district for years, from Bloomington to Linton, from Bloomfield to Odon.

Jeff has been a firefighter with the city of Bloomington for 28 years. He married Hope Habbe in 1990, and they have two children, Lindsey (a 2015 graduate of Indiana University's Kelley School of Business) and Lincoln, a 2015 graduate of Bloomington High School South and accomplished hockey player.

Jeff was elected to the Monroe County Council in 1996 and served from 1997 to 2005. He served as Monroe County recorder in 2014 to finish the term of the late Jim Fielder. Jeff frequently rises at 5 a.m. to begin his days.

Today, Jeff wants to continue to represent his home district at the Indiana Statehouse. Because he knows the district, its people, its schools, its farms and its businesses.
